Industry Experience

  • Dr. Negin Mirhosseini was born and brought up in Kerman, Iran. She attended the College of Veterinary Medicine in Kerman for four years. She then left Iran to continue her graduate education in the veterinary field at Texas A&M University in College Station. For her Masters’ Thesis, Dr. Mirhosseini researched on Equine infectious anemia virus (EIA). In fulfillment of her Doctor of Philosophy, Dr. Mirhosseini completed a dissertation on Avian bornavirus (ABV).

    Upon completion of her Doctorate, Dr. Mirhosseini took up a postdoctoral research position at the University of Oklahoma. During her year and a half tenure there she studied microRNA. To have a flexible schedule to allow her to attend to her newborn son, she took up a job as an adjunct professor at the Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC). She later moved to Rio Grande Valley where she taught at the South Texas College (STC) and the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). In the Fall of 2019, she got the opportunity to be back at home in the College of Arts & Sciences to teach the new generation of Aggie BIMS students.
