Aggies Tackle Water Resource Management

In May 2023, five Multidisciplinary Engineering students from Texas A&M University - Higher Education Center at McAllen competed against industry and professional corporations to improve the current method of collecting precipitation data. Professor Oscar Lopez led the Senior Capstone Project Design course that spanned two semesters and traveled with the '22 Marroon' team to College Station to present their innovative mechanism, named the Precipitation Measuring Device.

The students' device can help the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation improve its procedures in collecting precipitation data for water management, conservation and sustainability of natural resources. Whoop!
