Rick Margo has more than 30 years of professional work experience focused primarily on providing exemplary customer service. Originally from Rio Grande City, Texas, Rick graduated from Texas A&M University College Station in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics. Rick's journey led him to his current position of Executive Director of the Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen, where he prioritizes personalized service and exceptional support to the entire campus community. Rick has been nominated and received many awards and accolades but is most proud of being selected as the recipient of the President’s Meritorious Service Award for outstanding service to Texas A&M University in 2019.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Rick finds fulfillment in his family life. Married to Yvonne Margo for 32 years, they have raised three daughters: Erika M. Margo Polites, Victoria N. Margo, and Sarah C. Margo who are all graduates of Texas A&M University, Aggie classes of ‘15, ‘18 and ‘21. Their family recently welcomed their first grandson, Cameron James Polites, born in December 2023 who will be a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2044!
Rick is involved in his community, serving as a member of the Knights of Columbus, and actively participating various city/county clubs and organizations. He also contributes his time and expertise to the Evins Juvenile Detention Center in Edinburg, Texas where he serves as a mentor/teacher, demonstrating his commitment to making a positive impact beyond his current position. Furthermore, he has dedicated over four decades to his family-owned ranch, Margo Ranch in Starr County, fostering its cattle business and hunting enterprise’s success and growth.
