Dr. Mohammed J. Farooqi is the Instructional Assistant Professor of Physics at the Higher Education Center. He has previously worked as a full time lecturer of Physics at UTSA, Gonzaga, UTRGV and STC. He earned his undergraduate degree in Physics from the University of Texas Pan American and his PhD in Physics from the University of Texas at San Antonio. His research interests are in the areas of Biophysics, specifically in photo-physics of protein folding and more recently in the area of Physics Education. He has over ten years of experience in teaching Physics as a high school teacher, graduate teaching assistant and a lecturer. Dr. Farooqi joined the Texas A&M Higher Education Center at McAllen in the Fall of 2018.
