Industry Experience

  • Clarissa Garza is a Program Coordinator for the Higher Education Center at McAllen focusing on recruitment, family engagement, and working closely in the development of the Honors Program. Her undergraduate degrees include Associate of Science in Biology from South Texas College, Bachelor of Science in Public Health-Epidemiology and Bachelor of Art in Sociology from University of Texas-San Antonio. She received her Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley.

    She began working with University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley in 2017 as a graduate assistant for the Graduate College. Her internships include Counseling intern with UTRGV Student Accessibility Services and Intern for Texas Workforce Solutions Rehabilitation Services where she oversaw summer programs. She joined UTRGV as a full time Graduate Student Recruiter in 2019, before joining Texas A&M in 2022.

    Clarissa is an RGV native. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to audio books, rewatching Grey’s Anatomy, and spending time with her three cats Charcoal, Oreo Denise, and Snickers.
